Katherine Butler, clinical specialist in Hand Therapy and Graeme Jones, physiologist, hosted a live case study on performing arts medicine. Matt Oliver, the drummer of Jettblack, a contemporary rock band, was kind enough to be the subject of the interactive evening.
Matt, who started Jettblack with his close friends when he was a teenager, had to stop drumming last year because of problems with his arms. Katherine discussed how London Hand Therapy had managed his treatment protocol and got him back to playing regularly. Matt gave live demonstrations and talked about some of the challenges he had faced. Graeme finished the evening with a discussion on how to speed recovery and regeneration through optimising lifestyle factors such as diet, sleep and stress management.
A massive thanks to Matt for agreeing to be a part of the evening.
